Our Salem, NH location is just minutes from Methuen and Haverhill, MA. As the longest-running shop in the state for both custom pieces and walk-in tattoos, we bring decades of expertise to every session.

If it was easy to be the best NH tattoo shop it wouldn't be Mayhem. 

Our moves: 

 Broad St to 59 Main St Nashua was due to a strip mall going in & pushing us out.  Unfortunately, the expense to build the new location & tattoo shops were popping up everywhere & it was hard to recover & by 2014 we were in financial hell.    Nov. 1st, 2014 Mayhem was reformed & member took over to save the company.  

We started 2016 debt free & I remember saying finally I will see some profit!  March 2016 we noticed Mayhem was dropping towards the river & due to the owners expense to fix a sink hole we were asked to move by end of April. 

 After 22 locations we decided on 89 W Pearl St Nashua NH & started yet another very expensive renovation.  

2017 there was a fire in another section of our building & shut us down another week to repair floor & wall ....it was a little scary.  

Voted #1 by Hippo and Best of the Best magazine if gave us the drive to start thinking about a second shop to specialize in custom tattoos while Nashua focused on walk-in tattoos.  We are in Salem NH, minutes from Methuen and Haverhill.

2014 The Lion Logo had replaced the original Devil Logo. It just didn't seem to fit the best tattoo shop in NH.  We started brain storming for a new logo.  Skull Logo: done a thousand times.   Crossed Machines Logo: every other tattoo shop has it.   As we were packing up to move Randy found the original plastic/rubber cut out of our original logo, our little red devil.  No other tattoo shops had anything close to it so we made the decision to keep the original logo for ,

After thinking about the logo, the long struggle to saving Mayhem from closing (ya, I know all you other shops thought it would close lol), moving the shop with 4 other people in the rain, having to renovated 89 W Pearl St (hadn't been touched since 1904) and it took every penny & a four wheeler when I ran out of money, me & few others working 15 plus days for the month & I haven't stopped.  One year later there was a fire that shut us down again but I stayed positive, kept pushing, kept recruiting artist and best tattoo shop in NH was back up and running.  If it was easy every one would be doing it. 

Logo for Salem:  we did a survey & it was really close  with the vote to keep the idea of the original logo. Both tattoo shops proudly display our original logo

Andy, former Mayhem Artist shared where our little devil came from or what he remembers; 

an old flash set he drew in 96 or 97, when he worked in Ohio. It's a spin off the old school devil, Hot Stuff.  He was a character from Harvey Comics way back in the 40s and 50s, part of the Caspar group of characters.  John, Mayhem's founder liked the version from Andy's flash set & adopted into the logo. Later, Andy drew up more versions, to make him more new school.
